October is packed with Halloween traditions like ghost storytelling, pumpkin festivals and all sorts of spooky events.  From toddlers to tweens, there is no shortage of Halloween activities all month long.  Head out dressed in your favorite costume to find tons of howl-o-ween fun for the entire family.

Back again, Halloween fun at Jenkinson’s Boo at the Boardwalk! From 12-4pm on Saturday & Sunday, October 18, 19, 25, & 26 enjoy face painting, arts & crafts, trick or treating, games, live entertainment, and more.  On both Saturdays, the 18th and 25th, from 2-3pm Jenkinson’s Aquarium will feature a special Underwater Pumpkin Carving demonstration.

Mum Madness And Pumpkin Parade Family Festival
Camden’s Children Garden, 3 Riverside Drive
Their salute to Autumn and their mascot Mum Bear starts Oct 8 & 9 with pumpkin crafts, a pumpkin story and pumpkin activities, all set in the blazing colors of the Garden’s beautiful chrysanthemums. For a small fee, you can purchase and paint a pumpkin to take home, while supplies last.

This annual Halloween-themed family event brings a spectacular display of intricately and creatively hand-carved and lighted pumpkins. As you walk the path that winds around the Arboretum gardens you will come across large and impressive sculptures as well as fun and surprising images. Then at the end of the Path, go through the arbor to the Haunted Garden, if you dare. In the darkness, behind the shrubs and trees lurks a scary surprise or two. If you don’t like the scary, pop over to the Black Hat Café for seasonal refreshments like cider, hot cocoa, fabulous cupcakes or cookies. Wandering entertainers like a magician, musicians, or dancers will keep you entertained on this night the whole family will remember.

Goblins In The Garden Family Festival

Come in costume and have howling good time on Oct 22 & 23. Take a Haunted Train Ride, encounter characters throughout the garden, and meet the bumbling burglars! Trick or Treat during their Costume Parade. The Costume Parade will take place on the Main Plaza at 2pm.  
Creature Show Movie Night At Duke Farms

On Oct 28, the Creature Show Movie Night is a traveling showcase of short environmental documentaries about the wild things—and people and places—of New Jersey. The lineup will include special previews of filmmaker David Kessler’s upcoming film, “The Pine Barrens”, filmmaker Jared Flesher’s upcoming film, “Birds of May,” and the Duke Farms award winning “TALON” video. In addition to the seven short films about a wide range of environmental topics pertinent to New Jersey, the program will include an introduction and question and answer session with Creature Show director Jared Flesher and guest appearances from our local movie “stars”.

There'll also be a Spooky Barn for the older kids, festively decorated for Halloween, and Wildlife Witch Shows in the theater where the whole family can learn more about creepy creatures. Boo at the Zoo wouldn't be complete without marching through the zoo in our Costume Parade, followed by a groovy time at our kid-friendly dance party. Keep an eye out for costumed characters as you explore the zoo and ask them to take a picture with you.

Tons of fun activities such as a Costumed Character Scavenger Hunt, face painting, and other Halloween-themed games and crafts.  There'll also be a Wildlife Witch Shows in the theater where the whole family can learn more about creepy creatures. Be sure to keep an eye out for live animal encounters during the show! We'll also have sea lion training sessions during the day. Boo at the Zoo wouldn't be complete without marching through the zoo in our Costume Parade, followed by a groovy time at our kid-friendly dance party.
