Fabulous Fairs and Festivals August

Summer fun is over all too soon but you still have one month to go to pack in all the fun you can before school starts again. Check out our list of family fun festivals and fairs for the month of August. There are lots of options from arts & crafts, 4-H competitions, music and street fairs full of fun, food, and more. Mark your calendar to make sure you don’t miss out any of these great events.

Somerset County 4-H Fair – Aug 12 – 14; 10 AM – 10 PM
North Branch Park, 355 Milltown Road, Somerset
Showcase of 4-H projects and activities with dog, horse, livestock shows, food, and entertainment

Ocean County Baby Parade – Aug 13 – noon
The parade route is on the Boardwalk from 6th – 12th streets in Ocean City.
Dressed up babies stroll along the boardwalk with parents

Blue Claw Crab Race, Anything Floats Race, and Blue Claw Craft Show – Aug 15
Sunset Park, W Salem Avenue, Harvey Cedars

Maywood Summertime Street Festival – Aug 16; 10 AM – 5 PM
West Pleasant Ave from Lincoln to Oak Ave
Family orientated festival, music, and children’s activities

Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair – Aug 19 – 23
Hunterdon County Fairgrounds Routes 202 and 179 Hunterdon
4-H Member shows, farm animals, tractor pulls, contests, garden exhibits, live music, amusement rides, and food vendors  

Blue Claw Crab Race, Anything Floats Race, and Blue Claw Craft Show – Aug 15
Sunset Park, W Salem Avenue, Harvey Cedars 

Maywood Summertime Street Festival – Aug 16; 10 AM – 5 PM

Chocolate & Vanilla Celebration at Camden Children’s Garden - Aug 22 & 23; 1pm - 4pm
3 Riverside Drive, Camden
A delicious daytime event dedicated to two of nature’s most flavorful plants. Vote for your favorite ice cream flavor, and take a tropical smell test.  Join them for crafts and fun educational activities!

 

Long Branch Jazz and Blues Festival - Aug 29

The Great Lawn at the Boardwalk, 28 McKinley Ave., Long Branch, NJ 07740

Join the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation live performances by talented jazz and blues musicians, food, crafter and sponsor exhibits, an Alex and Ani Hospitality Tent, activities for the entire family and fireworks. The festival is rain or shine, free to the public, dog friendly and all ages are welcome to attend.

 

Colts Neck Country Fair - Aug 20 – 23; Thurs, Fri, Sat 4-11 pm Sunday 2-8 pm

Majestic Midways provides some of the best and cleanest rides.  Come see an Antique Fire Engine and the New Jersey Hall of Fame Museum!  They will also have your favorite games of chance, a host of vendors, Great Food, CentraState Healthcare System mobile health van, the Lions Club Hole In One challenge, and more!!

 

Fair Haven Firemen’s Fair - Aug 28 - Sep 5

A fair with rides, local food and fire truck rides.

 

Long Branch Jazz & Blues Festival - Aug 29, Noon- 9:30pm

On the Great Lawn at the Promenade in Long Branch

Music Stage, Crafters, Kid's Activities, Beach & Ocean ... and Fireworks!
