It's March Madness and Time to Get Kids Sports Ready

1-2-3 Go! Let's Get Moving Kids...

Let’s go kids! Time to put the video games down and release some energy!!! Whether your kid is a budding athlete or not, it’s that time of year to get ready for spring training. Stretch those legs, tune up the arms, jump high, go outside and get kicking. There are plenty of sports related places to go enjoy, get some exercise, and have some fun at the same time. Why not try a new sport? Your child may surprise himself/herself and be a natural or even learn to love it. Below is a short list. Register for the Spring classes now. Tee Off with Golf and Mini-Golf

The smell of spring is in the air. Anchor Golf Academy in Whippany NJ is the place to be for golf. Receive top golf instruction from PGA professionals on all aspects of the game. Anchor offer golf lessons, clinics, driving range, and a golf camp for kids for all levels. Up by Closter and Northvale NJ is JS Golf Academy. Junior Sports offer personalized junior golf lessons, field lessons, and instruction by certified USGTF golf pros. Learn how to drive, hit your shots, and have fun at the same time. If you're looking for a junior golf camp in the Short Hills NJ area, Louis Ruina's Golf Camp will teach your child golf rules, etiquette, drills and practice putting, chipping, pitching and on course play!

For some super fun mini-golf, you can't beat Monster Mini Golf in Fairfield NJ or Paramus NJ. Walk & play in an indoor 18-hole miniature golf course. You’ll be under the glow of black lights with monster themed décor and animated monsters at every twist and turn. How cool is that?

Flip with Gymnastics

March and April 2019 Spring gymnastics classes at Diamond Gymnastics Academy in Cranford NJ are coming up. Register for preschool, grade school, recreational, and advanced sessions. Get introduced to gymnastics equipment, handstands, tumbling, cartwheels, flexibility, and strength training. For amazing fitness fun for kids, try My Gym this Spring. Sunburst Gymnastics in Union offers gymnastics classes for beginner, intermediate, and competitive teams. Learn balance, coordination, vault, balance beams, uneven bars, and more!

The Little Gym's (Montclair, Waldwick, Wayne) unique children's classes revolved around active play. Learn balance, flexibility, agility and power. Get rolling with pre-k and grade school gymnastics or get moving with parent/child classes. Wonder what it’s like? Enroll in an introductory class this spring.

Basketball and Baseball Instruction

Got ball? Check out Hoops There It Is! in Cranford NJ for some awesome basketball fun. Basketball lessons for kids/youths and spring clinics - dribbling skills, shooting, defense, rebounding, layups, conditioning and agility. Run the bases with Professional Baseball Instructions in Ramsey NJ. They have Spring training baseball clinics for kids ages 5-13. Go for private or group instruction for players, with lessons in all areas baseball – hitting, fielding, throwing, pitching, catching, conditioning and base running. Baseball camp too!

Horseback Riding Classes

Has your child been asking you for horseback riding lessons? Spring is a good time to start. The weather is perfect to be outside. Give Bergen Equestrian Center in Leonia a try. Perfect for beginners. For 7-13 years. No horse riding experience necessary. Learn all about horses and prepare to ride! Seaton Hackney Stables in Morristown NJ is a perfect place for the aspiring young equestrian! Spend an exciting day at the Stables and ride 2-3x a day at their flex camp offered all year round. They have a summer camp too!

Ice Skating and Roller Skating Fun

Plenty of ice skating left. Step on the ice and go ice-skating with family and friends at the Union Sports Arena. Public sessions Monday-Sunday, time varies. Go roller-skating at the International Skating Center Mount Laurel. Open public session for roller-skating in an indoor 12,000 sq ft wooden floor roller rink - Saturday 11am-5:30pm and Sunday 11am-3:30pm. Exciting and fun. Rock and skate to the latest music. Also, Family Fun Night on Fridays, 6-9pm. There are drop-in sessions for ice skating and roller-skating at the Woodbridge Community Center.

How high can you Jump?

Spring sessions at Launch Linden Park in Linden NJ are on going. Step into the Battle Pit where you can challenge your friends and test your balancing skills. Try The Challenger, a Ninja course where you overcome obstacles. Jump on trampoline courts and defy gravity. Lots of fun for children of all ages. At fun at the many Sky Zones around New Jersey (Allendale, Mount Olive, Pinebrook, Ocean Township Monmouth). Kids with energy can go and jump in a giant indoor trampoline park. Try Skyslam where you jump and dunk a ball in a hoop, free jump or freestyle jump into foam. Toddler time for ages 5 and under too!
