When the teachers are away for NJEA, the students will play! The NJEA conference happens every November, just in time for a long fall weekend before Thanksgiving break. From mini camps to exciting attractions, there are lots of fun things to do with the kids while they are off from school.
iPlay America turns FIVE on Friday, Nov 11, and celebrating by offering guests five fantastic days of FUN, festivity, and special surprises. Branchburg Sports Complex School’s Out! Camp keeps campers ages 5 – 13 busy with fun games, sports and other activities during days off from school. Held in their climate controlled, indoor facility. Campers will enjoy an organized day of activities including games and field sports, batting cages and the BSC PlayMaze! Campers will also get to face off in our multi-level laser tag arena and play the newest arcade games in the Family Entertainment Center.
While teachers are at their convention, bring your child to My Gym in Westfield where they can have an action packed 3 hours of fun and exercise. Children will participate in a variety of games, relays, gymnastics and sports skills. Each day there will be arts and crafts, pizza & story time. Don’t miss the fun!
Head to the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed for their Fall STEAM Ahead Mini-Camp. All public schools in New Jersey are closed…so spend the day exploring science, technology, engineering, art and math with the Teacher-Naturalists! The Watershed Center and Lab will be ‘home base’ but children spend part of each day exploring outdoors. Registration and pre-payment are required.
The West Windsor Arts Center is offering a special In From the Wild: Fall Mini-Camp. Join them for an indoor camping adventure! They'll be using nature as their inspiration even if it's too cold or wet to get outside. Each day, they'll be acting and telling stories, making your own sculptures and paintings, plus having a fun sing-along around the indoor campground. Feel free to bring your sleeping bag and cuddle up around the campground for a fun and cozy time.
Reeves-Reed Arboretum is offering two special mini camps. Amazing Adaptations: Nov 10 and Secrets of the Night: Nov 11 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. These mini-camps provide your children with an opportunity to spend time outside exploring and learning in a fun and exciting way. Through games, crafts, stories and hikes children will learn all about animals' special features and behaviors.
