North Jersey

The Annual New Jersey City Hip Hop Day Festival

August 30-31.

A free festival that pays tribute to the four elements of Hip Hop and New Jersey's Contribution to Hip Hop as a whole. The Festival is held downtown Jersey City at Exchange Place. The four sides of the park are dedicated to the four elements of Hip Hop displaying B-Boy & B-Girl exhibits, Emcee Battles, Turntablism and Graffiti artists.  The weekend will be packed with Live entertainment, workshops, and vendors.

Riverdale Street Fair

1920s Country Fair & Harvest Festival at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm

Come one, come all, to the 1920s Country Fair and Harvest Festival with farm animals, wagon rides around the farm,  live music, a variety of tasty food offerings at concession stands, tours of the farmer’s home and the Foster mansion, Charleston dance lessons, wood-burning stove cooking demos, old-fashioned games, and so much more! Join the thousands of visitors who come each year to this spectacular recreated country fair at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm in Morris Township.   Visit all the farm animals, including the Belgian draft horses, Jersey dairy cows, chicken, sheep, and  pigs, take a wagon ride or a spin in an antique automobile around the farm. Enjoy live music of the Long Hill String Band, and meet a sidesaddle rider. Lend a hand cider pressing, brush the Jersey cows, crack the corn to feed the chickens, and milk our wooden cow, ‘Woody’.  Special event fees are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (65+), $6 for children ages 4 – 16, and $4 for children ages 2 and 3. Wondering what to do with the family this weekend? Hop on to one of their GIANT covered wagons, pulled by a real farm tractor, for a 20 minute ride around their farm. You'll see lots of friendly characters, and great scenes from your favorite movies. After the ride, you'll be in the pumpkin patch, where you can select that perfect pumpkin in all shapes and sizes!  They also have pony rides, petting zoo, and a GIANT corn maze that covers 15 acres of uncharted territory with over 3 miles of trails.
