New Jersey is loaded with special NJ festivals and fairs that the entire family can enjoy.  NJ Kids has collected these fabulous ideas below.  Your kids will be sure to find interactive and engaging things to do.

May 3.  Hooked on the Hudson
Fishing contest, exhibits & more with the Hudson River Fishermen's Association • Fishing contest begins at 8 AM, exhibits, etc. from 11 AM, at Ross Dock Picnic Area in Fort Lee (directions). Free and open to all with no advanced registration required. Fishing poles and bait available on site. Rain or shine.  Ross Dock at Palisades Interstate Park, Fort Lee

May 3. Bluebird Festival

May 3-4.  Tenafly Craft Show and Street Fair

May 3. 4th Annual Toms River Food Fest
Everyone is welcome to this all-day event featuring: Food, craft and local business vendors! Live music with four bands. A beer and wine garden. Children’s rides.  Downtown Toms River on Washington Street, Toms River.

May 3.  Walnut Street Sidewalk Fair
A sidewalk fair for the whole family.   See the neighborhood come out of its shell.  The event will be a celebration of the wonderful Walnut Street community.  Local Montclair vendors, food trucks, antiques, prenatal and baby yoga, artisanal bread, drinks, food, lots of free stuff and more!  Walnut Street, Montclair.

May 3. PrincetonKIDS Family Fun Day @ Quaker Bridge Mall
This FREE community event will feature live entertainment and demonstrations at the Mall's Center Court.  Plus there will be face painting, glitter tattoos, mascots, giveaways, and tons of crafts and children's activities at family friendly vendor tables.  Princeton.

May 4. Hoboken Spring Arts and Music Festival
Over 300 artists, crafters and more. Great food.  Kids area on 3rd Street. 3 stages of live performances.  Washington St, Hoboken.

May 4. Spring Fling in Westfield
With the closing of the streets, the downtown is transformed into a safe and fun family festival.   There is no admission fee and parking is free.  Downtown Westfield.

May 4.  Glen Rock Autumn Craft Street Fair
Downtown Rock Rd will be filled with exhibitors displaying crafts, art & photography. There will also be pony rides, a petting zoo a spring flower sale & all day entertainment. Downtown Rock Rd. & Maple Ave, Glen Rock.

May 10. Washington Crossing 5K Trail Run and Walk
Show your colors and support for General George Washington and his troops on this historic 5K Trail Run and Walk. Prizes for most patriotic participants.  NJ History Fair with demos, Food Trucks and Military Band Concert (Free Admission to the Fair).  Washington Crossing State Park, 355 Washington Crossing Pennington Rd, Titusville.

May 10.  Challenger Fun Day at Overpeck County Park

Come enjoy a day in the park! Parade and games begin at 11:00am. Snacks, barbeque & music. Sponsored by Division on Disability Services

May 10. Beautiful Butterflies, Birds & Cinco de Mayo Festival @ Camden Children's Garden
From crawling caterpillars and fluttering butterflies to lovely local birds, celebrate the Garden's most beautiful and important inhabitants. Learn about the live butterflies. Celebrate the return of Monarchs from Mexico and the Mexican traditional holiday Cinco de Mayo. This event includes crafts, and a colorful cultural celebration.  3 Riverside Drive, Camden.

May 17-18. DO AC Fire on the Water Festival
A free 2-day event that will feature a stop on the World Famous Firefighter Combat Challenge Tour in Atlantic City and the 7th annual "Guns vs. Hoses" Battle at the Basin. The festival will feature crafters, food vendors, beer gardens, live music, kid's activities, including a Kid's Firefighter Challenge, "Fire on the Water" and much more.  Historic Gardner's Basin Waterfront Park in Atlantic City, NJ.

May 17. Rutherford Multicultural Festival
International Food, Dances and Music from around the world! Music, Dance, Food from around the world, Crafts, Games, Face Painting, Salsa Dancers, Irish Dancers, Biwanko - Japanese drummers, Belly Dancing, Indian , Ukraine, Mongolian dancers.  Giant Tree House. Slide.  Lots of family fun!  2 Lincoln Ave, Rutherford.

May 17.  Fine Arts and Crafts at Verona Park Visit our Featured Events! Fine Arts and Crafts at Verona Park.  Free‑to‑the‑public show in a beautiful county park around a lake. Juried fine artists, craft people, and photographers displaying and selling their unique, hand‑crafted work. Gourmet food items will also be featured.

May 17.  Pennington Day. An all day community event, three stages of live entertainment, local bands, dance troupes and a Kid Pavilion with children's activities. Food and Street vendors throughout. This day of fun raises money for community grants to local non-profits.  Downtown Pennington.

May 18. Bluegrass & Barbecue Festival at Tuckerton Seaport.  Kick-off the summer with the down home sounds of bluegrass and the sweet smell of barbecue. Crafters, vendors, food, refreshments, family activities, demonstrations, decoy carvers, boat building and boat rides. General Admission applies.  120 W. Main Street, Tuckerton

May 24-25.  Fit & Fun Festival at Camden Children's Garden.  This festival will highlight easy and fun ideas for a healthy lifestyle, with a focus on simple physical activities and nutritious eating.  Crafts, a veggie make-n-take planting activity and educational activities that support healthy living.  3 Riverside Drive, Camden.

May 26. Teaneck's Cedar Lane Family Festival.  A family and patriotic festival celebrating Memorial Day.  American Legion Dr & Cedar Lane, Teaneck.

May 31-June 1.  New Jersey Renaissance Faire.  The New Jersey Renaissance Faire is fun for the whole family as you step back in time to the days of yesteryore and 16th century merry olde England. The New Jersey Renaissance Faire features six stages of performances, music, and entertainment, as well as a full scale chess match, sword fighting, a full scale joust, glass blowing, falconry, and other fun filled and educational activities.  1195 Florence-Columbus Road, Bordentown.
