NJ Kids Book Review: Dog Loves Drawing

Posted by: NJ Kids Team - December 09, 2012

Dog loved books so much he owned his own bookstore. When he wasn’t reading new stories he was sharing his passion and reading to others. One morning, a package was delivered to his store leading to the start of something new… and colorful!

"To my dearest Dog,
May the lines you draw open a door to some wonderful adventures.
With love from your,
        Aunt Dora xoxo"

In the package was a sketchbook from Dog’s aunt with a nearly endless blank canvas for Dog to create a whole new world, via color pencils that is! In no time at all Dog finds himself surrounded by countless new friends in his elaborate and unexpected story book adventure.

I can't say enough about the illustrations in this book, the cover doesn’t do it justice. With Dog receiving a sketchbook of his own, the illustrations are drawn from a child’s hand and mind’s eye, giving the pages a relatable and kindhearted feel.

By Louise Yates

Hardcover, 32 pages.

Ages 3-5

I highly recommend this
